OnePlus has announced its entry into the foldable smartphone market with its first model called Open. Based on the technology of its sister company Oppo’s previous foldable devices, OnePlus Open features displays with a refresh rate of 120 Hz.

OnePlus Open specs and price

Although new for OnePlus, the Open model can be seen as the third foldable smartphone generation of BBK Electronics, which owns both OnePlus and Oppo. The new model is based on the hinge mechanism in Oppo’s Find N and N2 models.

However, OnePlus claims that it has focused on durability in this device and that the Open has passed one million folds in tests. Considering that competitors such as the Galaxy Z Fold 5 can withstand nearly 200,000 folds, this is a very ambitious figure.
